Melvin Logemann Estate Gift...July 14, 1918-May 29, 2013...a legacy left behind for future generations
Melvin Logemann had a long and full life during his 94 years on earth. He was a generous man who loved his Lord deeply. As a farmer, Melvin understood the bounty of nature and the heartbreak of loss. He worked hard and invested wisely. He was a loving family man, counting his family as one of his most treasured blessings.
During his life-time, Melvin touched many lives with his sweet sense of humor and his giving spirit. He knew that his blessings and successes were gifts from God and were meant to be shared to bless others. Melvin found that by giving generously to many ministries he was blessed even more.
Melvin was a fervent advocate of Lutheran education. His gifts to MLHS were frequent and generous. Many MLHS students were personally blessed by Melvin’s gifts to student tuition aid. While he was alive, he also gave $25,000 to establish the MLHS Melvin Logemann Student Tuition Aid Endowment Fund. Income from that fund will provide scholarships for generations to come. Melvin’s life will continue to impact many lives forever because of the careful gift planning he completed while he was alive. After he passed away, MLHS was blessed with $288,000 from Melvin’s estate. In honor of his love of helping students, $75,000 was placed in the MLHS Melvin Logemann Student Tuition Aid Endowment Fund.
Because Melvin was such a special man, the family hoped that part of his gift would be used for something special. It was determined that a face-lift to the Lutheran Activity Center would be a lasting tribute to Melvin’s fun-loving spirit. The new surround-sound system will make concerts and special events much nicer. A new wood floor will be installed soon—no longer will athletes have to play on “that floor” and endure shin splints. Rummage sales and auctions will have a smooth covering on the floor to protect the wood. As a result of the giving spirit of an unforgettable man, attending events in the MLHS Lutheran Activity Center will now be an unforgettable experience.
