Tuition doesn’t cover what it actually costs to educate a student. Many families cannot afford the full tuition. 30% of our families qualify for assistance. MLHS operates on the premise that “tuition should NEVER prevent a student from being blessed by a Christian high school education.” The Ministry opportunities are plentiful! The tuition aid fund is set up to provide actual dollars that are awarded to deserving families who apply for tuition assistance. Nearly $100,000.00 is awarded to deserving families each school year. These grants are not given out lightly. Families complete an application and a committee reviews the needs.
Here are two essays from student tuition aid applications which authenticate the value of the MLHS Ministry:
“As said in Jeremiah 29:11 ‘For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to proper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ I feel like God gifted me with the ability to share God’s Word when his plan led me to attend Martin Luther High School. I think this allows me to share His word because this school teaches me a lot about the Bible. It goes more in depth so I can tell my public-school friends and teach them more about the Bible. I know that I have to tell them because when I talk to them about this kind of stuff, they are close to clueless. It hurts to know how little they know about God’s Word. Vocation can mean a lot of things, but to me, it means to not be ashamed of what God gave me and to use it to the best of my ability.”
“I have chosen to attend MLHS because it not only prepares me for life in this world, but also the world to come. Also, it is like one big family at MLHS. Everybody know each other and are friends. I also have made extremely close bonds with each teacher. By being involved in my community, I can share God’s Word and His Promises to those that need to hear it. In today’s crazy world it is crucial for us Christians to stand firm in our faith and share it. The world’s darkness allows us to shine ever brighter. Now is not the time for us to remain quiet; we must be bold and active in our communities, churches, and schools to bring in new believers and reassure/uplift each other.”
Your gift keeps the ministry going and helps families.
It helps us carry out what God has called us to do:
“Teach to their children, that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments.”
-Psalm 78:5-7.
