The Spring Concert "Music Montage" was held at Martin Luther High School, Northrop under the direction of Mr. Phil Schult. The presentation of the concert incorporating musicians of all ages was described as "masterful"--illustrating the progression of talents and the development of musical talents. Dr. David Mennicke, from Concordia St Paul, expressed his pleasure at seeing musicians of all ages performing. Students from grade four to college level presented their talents. Director Schult gives lessons to students at Immanuel Lutheran School, Lakefield; St Paul Lutheran School, Fairmont; St Paul's Lutheran School, Northrop; St James Lutheran School, Northrop and at Martin Luther High School. This concert was the culmination of everyone's hard work. Beginner band students opened the show playing two pieces entitled "Conquest" and "Celebrity." Intermediate band students performed "Too Beautiful for Words" and "Knights of Destiny." The MLHS band performed an exceptional array of several songs including "Mars 'The Bringer of War'" and "Music from WICKED." They were followed by an outstanding performance by Concordia University, St Paul Christus Chorus under the direction of Dr. David Mennicke. MLHS was the first stop on their spring Minnesota Tour. The MLHS choir performed "Fly Me to the Moon", "What a Wonderful World", "For the Beauty of the Earth", and "Trust in You." To conclude the concert the MLHS and CSP choirs combined to sing "A Blessing." We praise God for the talents of our young musicians, the parent and community support given to the program, and the gift of Director Phil Schult in our midst who has a wonderful passion for "Making Music with Children." To God be the Glory!!
