Reminders for Semester Exams:
1. Exams are to be comprehensive over all the material covered during the semester.
2. Exams should be written to last 90 minutes.
3. Exams will count 20% of the semester grade.
4. Students may leave school once their last exam period of the day is finished and should not return that day unless they have a scheduled activity (such as practice or rehearsal). Students do not need to be at school until their first scheduled exam. However, if their first exam takes place immediately after chapel, they must arrive in time to attend chapel. Similarly, if a student’s only exam of the day is during the first testing period, they must remain at school for devotions before leaving.
5. Students who need to arrive early or stay late but do not have an exam scheduled during that time should report to the cafeteria for quiet study. They are also expected to attend devotions when devotions are held.
6. Students should bring study materials with them since they are not allowed to leave the exam room until the exam period has ended (except in the case of an emergency).
7. Students should be spread out as much as possible in the exam room. The room is to be quiet at all times, even if the last exam has been turned in. This is out of respect for the other rooms and individuals still taking exams.
8. The bells will be adjusted to accommodate the exam schedule.
9. Please review these guidelines with your students, as needed, each day.
10. Finals must be taken on the day they are normally scheduled; special exemptions may be allowed by the principal for family emergencies.
11. Semester grades will be computed according to the expanded letter grade divisions, that are presently in use at MLHS.
12. Students must be out of the building by 12:15 p.m. if not testing, and LUNCH WILL NOT BE SERVED. Please plan transportation accordingly.
