Volunteers
The volunteerism of so many wonderful people is the lifeblood of MLHS.
Many long-lasting friendships have been formed while volunteering at MLHS.
Thank you & God bless you!
Loving people that give of their time, talents and treasures are the heart of MLHS.
VOLUNTEERS worked tirelessly to make it possible for MLHS to begin its first school year in 1983 in a rented storefront in downtown Northrop.
VOLUNTEERS have made huge sacrifices to build MLHS up to the respected educational institution it is today.
Over the years, thousands of generous donors and faithful
VOLUNTEERS have given from their hearts to provide everything you see at MLHS and everything that is offered to our students.
Fall Rummage & Bake Sale
Thank you to all the wonderful people who made the Fall Rummage Sale such a great success! You helped raise approximately $12,500 for MLHS. The money raised help purchase special extra's for the school such as uniforms, equipment, field trips, Grandparents Day Dinner, parking lot upkeep and the LCEF loan payment.
Thank you to all who worked, sorted, cleaned, donated, baked, canned and promoted this sale. Special thanks to the PTL Rummage Sale committee and all the "Friends of MLHS" who give of their time. This event could NOT happen with out all of you!
The "leftovers" from the sale are donated to other charities. The Orphan Grain Train took 141 boxes of clothes, Marty Krause took 11 boxes of books for the Rotary Book sale, 10 pairs of ice skates were given to the MC Arena, and 7 garbage bags of shoes for the Epilepsy Foundation. Violet Gratz took some lamps for the refugee place that her daughter Vicki works at. We recycled items and also took a box for Bingo prizes to the Truman Senior Living.
In the first 15 minutes of the sale 285 people came through the doors. Profit for the first four hours of the sale on Thursday night was $8,700.00.

Storage Improvements
Summer Grounds Upkeep
Thank you to all the members of association churches who use their own equipment and come in small armies to mow the MLHS grounds and keep it looking nice! Your help is appreciated and very noticeable!
2008-New Dugouts in School Colors!
Several busy men were even busier making some wonderful improvements to the MLHS softball diamond this summer.
Daryl Bartz, Kevin Prafke, Chuck Patsche, Duane Behrens, Bob Traetow, Lynn Becker and many other volunteers moved the dugouts from the former baseball field in Welcome to MLHS. It took lots of manpower, big equipment and many hours to complete the project. In addition to the dugouts they put down pea rock and lime, renovated the bleachers and installed a new backstop. Thank you to Zion Lutheran Church, Fraser for funding a portion of this huge undertaking. Thanks to the wonderful ladies who provided food to the workers.
“It was a lot of fun working together like this,” said Daryl Bartz, “but this project was lots bigger than we ever thought it would be! It’s a good feeling doing something like this for the kids.” Daryl’s granddaughter, Stephanie Senne, plays on the Lady Knights softball team.
Thank you to the city of Welcome for giving the dugouts to MLHS and to those people who spearheaded this project. Thank you to everyone involved for obtaining the unused dugouts for MLHS, taking on this big project and donating materials and the many volunteer hours needed to complete it.
The Lady Knights Softball team is very excited about their “new blue dugouts!”
