Alum KNIGHTS Updates: Last updated 3/5/08                                                                                                                                                                                                               1986: Troy and Yolanda (Brummond) Geistfeld were blessed with a new baby. Harley Marie Irene was born on Aug. 27th. She weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces. She has two sisters, Haley and Hanna, and a brother, Sam.                                                                                            1990: Ryan Hall and his wife Jodi are the proud parents of a daughter, Peyton Lee. She was born on December 1st and weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce. She has an older sister, Reagan who is two. The Halls live in Adel, Iowa where Ryan is a full-time fireman.                                         

1991: Tyler and April Garrison have a new son, Parker David Scott was born June 15. He weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces. He has a sister, Katelyn.
1991:Jim Scott  is the director of Edelweiss Chalet Golf Course near Madison, WI. He and his wife, Sara have two daughters, Hope (7) and Tristan (4).
1992: Joanne (Urban) Schultz and her husband, Jeff, have moved to Mankato where he is the Territory Manager/Trainer for Logix Insulated concrete forms. www.logixicf.com.
1992: Jessica (Hartman) Larson and her husband Erik are the proud parents of a son, Charles Erik, born on Oct. 18th. He weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces. He has a sister, Katelyn.
1992: Congratulations to Lisa (Beckendorf) Stevens who won a Victory Kingpin motorcycle in a Godfather’s pizza drawing.Lisa and her husband Rick were blessed with another baby boy. Levi Harold was born on December 20th and weighed seven pounds, 13 3/4 ounces and was 21 3/4 inches long. He has two older brothers, Dylan age 6 and Lance age 4. The Stevens recently moved to the Beckendorf family farm in rural Ceylon.

1994: Christine (Bergt) Sprecher and her husband, Jered are the proud parents of Levi Benjamin born on June 1st. They live in Knoxville, TN. The family spent July and August in Dublin, Ireland while Jered worked at the Irish Museum of Modern Art.
1994: Josh and Beth Leiding have twin daughters. Gabriella Ann and Saige Emily were born April 20th. Gabriella weighed 5 pounds, 6 ounces and Saige weighed 5 pounds, 8 ounces.

1995: Leah (Becker) Wilkinson and her husband, Robert welcomed Robert Andrew IV (Bobby) into their family. He was born June 2. He weighed 8 pounds 4 ounces. They live in Austin, TX. where Leah works for ViaGen, Inc., a livestock cloning company as their Director of Policy and Industry Relations. 
1995:Courtney (Belgard) Studer and her husband, Chris were blessed with a baby boy on July 31. Griffin Michael weighed 7 pounds 13 ounces. He has two sisters, Lydia(6) and Eden (4).
1995:Faith (Thiesse) DeChristopher and her husband, Mark are the proud parents of a baby girl. Eleanor Marie was born September 7. She weighed 5 pounds 12 ounces. They live in Amissville, VA where she is a high school history teacher.
1995: Jamie Luckey is a marketing manager for a home building company in Atlanta, GA. She is also a featured writer for Caribbean Bride magazine.

1996: Bridget (Surdick) and Marty Thiel were blessed with a baby girl on July 2. Rebekah Mae was 6 pounds, 12 ounces. She has an older sister, Mikaela. The Thiels live in Fort Morgan, CO.                                                                                                                                       1996: Rev. Jonathan Mumme presented research at an international conference in Brazil. “Seven LCMS pastors, professors and other theologians were among a select group of scholars who presented their work on Martin Luther at the 11th International Congress for Luther Research, July 22-27, 2007 in Canoas, Brazil. The men joined 109 Luther scholars from around the world at the prestigious conference, which is held every five years. Presentations included writings and translation projects on the life and works of the leader of the Reformation, the movement that led to the birth of the Lutheran church.”-excerpt from “The Reporter”, the official newspaper of the LCMS, September 2007. Rev. Mumme of Eberhard Karls University of Tubingen, Germany was among the presenters. In 2006 Rev. Mumme was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship which funded his studies of the works of Martin Luther for one year in Germany.                                                                                                    1996: Josh Milow graduated in December from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a Masters Degree in Public Administration. He is employed at the Blue Earth County Courthouse in Mankato.

1997: Leah (Meixell) and Craig Toerpe were blessed with a son. Jakob David was born on Sept. 10th. He weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce. They live in Port Washington, WI.
1997:Tanya Surdick married Rob Stern on August 4 in Cedarburg, WI. The are living in Hartford, WI where she teaches 4th grade at a Lutheran school.                                                                                                                                                                                                    1997: Josh & Anne Winter have a new baby. Kaden William Webb was born Nov. 4th. He weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces. He has a sister, Kalie, and brothers, Kaleb and Kyle.

1998: Kristy (Malmanger) Schroeder and her husband Adam welcomed Isabella Rose into their lives. She was born August 30th and weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces.                                                                                                                                                                                   1999: Lucas Schultze will marry Sherry Sell on March 22 at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato. He is employed at “The Occasions Group” a division of Taylor Corp in Mankato. He has worked there since graduation in 2004 from Mankato State U. He plays guitar for Lifted, a local Christian rock band. The couple is registered at www.theknot.com

2000: Rhonda Fischer  is employed as a Revenue Agent for the IRS out of Mankato. She played a sexy soprano in a really funny show called "Lend Me a Tenor" in February. Go to www.merelyplayers.com to get info. It's by the same author at "Moon Over Buffalo".                               2000: Justin Olson and his wife Andrea live in Togiak, Alaska. They have a son, Joel Glendon, who was born on March 31st.
2000: Bryan & Angie (Thiesse) Rathman have a new daughter. Aviana Lynae was born Nov. 25th. She weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces.

2001: Josh Menk has returned from his travels in Europe and is living in Greenville, SC. He plans on pursuing his master in school counseling at Clemson University.
2001:Dan Breitbarth received his degree in Electrical Engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in 2006. He is employed at Toshiba International in Houston, TX.
2001: Angela Willner married Jeffrey Martin on August 12th at the Upper Peninsula Bible Camp in Michigan. They are living in Gwinn, MI. 

 
2002: Tim Anderson was married this summer to Emily. They live in Mounds View where he teaches high school history. He is also pursuing his masters degree.

2003: Stephanie Rosburg is serving as a missionary teaching English as a Foreign Language in Cieszyn, Poland to grades 8-12 at a Lutheran high school. www.cune.org/stephanie.rosburg/
2003:Nicky Osborn graduated from Rasmussen College last June with her Pharmacy Technician AAS Degree. She is employed at the Fairmont Medical Center as a Pharmacy Technician.
2003: Isaac Wallace graduated from Buena Vista University, Storm Lake, Iowa where he received the “Outstanding Senior in Finance and Banking” Award. He is employed at Profinium Financial in Fairmont.                                                                                                                                                                                                 2003: Evan Oberdieck married Lindsey Schultz on Sept. 2nd. They live in Woodbury.                                                                                 2003: Kelsey Schwieger will marry Jesse Murphy on June 14th at Zion Lutheran Church, Fraser. Kelsey graduated with her BSN in May 2007 and is working as a Registered Nurse in the Family Birth Center at Immanuel St.Joseph's in Mankato, MN. She hopes to begin working on graduate school in the fall. The couple is registered at www.theknot.com.

2004: Heidi Breitbarth received her degree in veterinary technology from Rochester Community College. She works at Cascade Animal Medical Center as veterinary technician.
2004: Leslie Bremer a senior at Bethany Lutheran College, Mankato earned a spot on the Illinois College Invitational all-tourney team at the Labor Day competition. She was named the Upper Midwest Athletic conference Player of the Year in volleyball. She played for Bethany Lutheran College, Mankato. She recorded 488 kills and 151 total blocks for the season with 226 and 72 respectively in the conference alone. Bremer also added 82 digs and 33 services aces.

2004 & 2005: A1C Lance & Kristin (Rusert) Halverson have been blessed with a son. Seth Charles was born June 19. He weighed 9 pounds 5 ounces. Lance has returned from Iraq and is stationed at McDill AFB in FL.
2005: Josh Abernathy has been stationed in Korea and will be back in the states soon.
2005: Luke Anderson was named to the spring honors list at Concordia University, Mequon, WI.                                                                
2005: Hiking, backpacking, living in the wilderness and beautiful scenery filled Caleb Belgard’s summer. Professors and students from Hamline University, St. Paul conducted archaeological digs in the remote areas of Alaska, excavating and researching sites of civilization.
    They spent time in Anchorage and Portage Glacier. Then the team traveled by boat to a drop-off point where they hiked several miles to their campsite—carrying heavy gear and valuable equipment.
    Caleb wrote that he saw fox and eagles on a daily basis and an occasional bear or moose. The sun didn’t set until 2:00 a.m. so he was able to walk the beach in his free time. watching otters, seals and whales.                                                                                                               2005: Kaitlin Leimer was named to the fall term dean’s list at Briar Cliff University, Sioux City, IA.

2006: Desiree Bicknase was named to the 2007 Fall Semester Dean’s List at Bethany Lutheran College, Mankato.

2008: Amanda Gahler has earned the designation of AP Scholar by the College Board in recognition of her exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement Program (AP) Exams.
      The College Boards Advanced Placement Program offers students the opportunity to take challenging college-level courses while still in high school and to receive college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP Exams. About 18 percent of the more than 1.4 million high school students in more the 16, 000 secondary schools worldwide who took AP Exams performed at a sufficiently high level to merit the recognition of AP Scholar.
      Students took AP Examinations in May 2007 after completing challenging college-level courses at the high schools. The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on students’ performance on AP Exams.
     At MLHS, Amanda Gahler qualified for the State AP Scholar Award by earning an average grade of 3 or higher on a 5-point scale on all AP Exams taken. She qualified for a State AP Scholar Award. The designation of State AP Scholar is granted to one male and one female student in each U.S. state and the District of Columbia with grades of 3 or higher on the greatest number of AP Exams.
