From Humble Beginnings into the 21st Century

1983: First day of school for grades 9 and 10.

Construction of the new school building in 1985. And the walls of the first school came tumbling down.

 2011:  396 teenagers prepared to meet the world with the

  exceptional Lutheran education provided to them by MLHS.

Ø Fill out a Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Simply Giving: Member Enrollment and Authorization Form. You must supply a voided personal check with the form.

Ø Your first donation will be deducted the 25th of the first available month.

Ø Mail both forms, with your signature and a voided check to MLHS.

You will receive:

Ø A yearly receipt for your tax-deductible donation

Ø Your name on the MLHS Donor Recognition WallØ The satisfaction in knowing that you are helping teens benefit from a Lutheran high school education.

Student Tuition Aid Program

   Tuition should never stop a student from

    hearing God's Word--every day.



   Families apply for tuition aid by

    completing an application through Tuition

   Aid Data Services. This outside agency determines how

   much each family is awarded.

Over $30,000 in tuition aid has been allocated to qualifying

families for the 2012-2013 school year. 30% of MLHS families

qualify for tuition aid.

The Grant Parents Program

     Choosing and student and paying

    their tuition. Not all families apply

    for tuition aid. Do you have a

    student in mind that you would

    like to encourage to attend MLHS by paying all or part of their tuition? You can be a Grant Parent! Note: According to IRS guidelines, this is considered a payment on behalf of a specific individual and NOT a tax-deductible donation.

Faith for the Future Annual Fund Membership

The tuition that families pay covers only 55% of the actual cost of the MLHS educational ministry. The balance comes from the generosity of others via monthly association congregational budgetary support, fundraising events, grants, memorials, estate gifts and outright donations.

Sustaining a strong parochial facility comes solely by the grace of God. Focusing on His ministry is our number one goal. Raising the income to support His ministry is a unique part of the operation of your Lutheran high school. Your regular gifts play a very important role in the growth and stability of MLHS.

Martin Luther High School depends on a constant, steady, faithful flow of income. Tuition income drops in the summer. Bills and salaries still need to paid. In 1998 the Board of Directors established the “Faith for the Future” Annual Fund Membership. Its purpose was to establish a membership opportunity for faithful friends (an extension of the LEA) to regularly support MLHS “over-and-above” their normal giving on a regular basis.

Faith for the Future Annual Fund Members provide regular, steady gifts which stabilize and strengthen the MLHS ministry.

Planned and estate gifts provide a legacy of love which lasts beyond a lifetime. These large gifts may be invested so that they will provide assurance for the future of MLHS. They may designated for perpetual student tuition aid or perpetual operating funds. Another purpose they may serve is long-term funding for the maintenance of property or building additions and new proejcts.
