A Choice Worth Making...

Alum-Knights

Welcome MLHS Alumni to YOUR page!

You are the living proof that Lutheran High School education is invaluable!

Reflect on your high school days and measure the impact that the daily chapels, religion classes, athletic competitions, service projects, friends and teachers had on making you who you are today.

Please let us know what you have been doing and the "high points" happening in your lives. You are reason to celebrate!

Listen to the MLHS Knights School Song here:

“Washington and Lee Swing”

The Martin Luther KNIGHTS are hard to beat!
They’re just a tower of power

         from head to feet!
They’ve got a style of play that’s mighty sweet!
And when you see them play,

        you’ll say...
        you’re bound to say...
You’ll say “Now there’s a team we’re proud to know!”
They’ve got that Martin Luther pep and go!
And when you see them play...
        you’re bound to say...
 GO, TEAM, GO!!

Joyful Thanks Fall Benefit Dinner Guest Speaker:  1986 Alumnus Michael Reed and family.

1986 MLHS Alumnus, Michael Reed lives on a farm outside of Altura, MN which is near the MN/WI border.
He and his wife, Lori have 3 children who attend Immanuel Lutheran School in Lewiston, MN. Hunter is 9, Gunner is 7 and their daughter, Tanner is 5. Active in both the church and school at Immanuel; Michael sits on the Finance committee, is the Chairmen of the School Board, coaches basketball and Lori teaches Sunday school.
Michael is a Production & Design Account Manager for Benchmark Electronics in Winona. Benchmark Electronics is global company that manufactures electronics of telecommunication equipment, computers, industrial control equipment, testing and instrumentation products and medical devices. Michael is responsible for the Design and Production schedules of a large Medical company who specializes in pacemaker and defibrillation.
Michael and Lori recently purchased a farm where they raise grapes. This year was their first harvest and wine making experience.
A member of the first Martin Luther High School graduating class, Michael was the Knight's team basketball captain and played baseball. The 1986 "The Shield" Yearbook's Senior Hall of Fame listed Michael as the "best helper to others", "class clown", "least serious", "most stubborn", "tallest", "best dressed", "best dancer", "best personality" and "in a good mood most often."
He is the son Harold and Leona Reed of Truman.

When Michael Reed was asked to be the guest speaker at the Joyful Thanks Fall Benefit Dinner, he was concerned that he wasn’t the best candidate for the task. At MLHS he was voted class clown and wasn’t the best student.
Today Michael is a husband and father of three children.  Michael is active in his home church and serves on the school board at Immanuel  Lutheran Elementary School in Lewiston, MN. He is employed with a global company and has accounts worldwide.
At the Benefit Dinner Michael began by saying that he needed to "get more comfortable" and removed his suit jacket, tie and dress shirt to show-off his John Deere shirt. "In high school we always argued what was better--red or green. Now I've got the last word in--green is best!"

He also expressed his gratitude to his parents and Lutheran school teachers for influencing his life. He verified the strong impact his years in Lutheran schools made on his faith and character.
“While I believe pastors have a very important role in growing God’s ministry, I believe that those of us who are not pastors have an even more difficult job. The audience pastors serve willingly come into the pews to hear their message. Our audience is often not very receptive, but they are the ones that need to hear His Truth the most. I unashamedly talk about my faith whenever and wherever I can.”
       -Michael Reed
