“Washington and Lee Swing”
The Martin Luther KNIGHTS are hard to beat!
They’re just a tower of power
from head to feet!
They’ve got a style of play that’s mighty sweet!
And when you see them play,
you’ll say...
you’re bound to say...
You’ll say “Now there’s a team we’re proud to know!”
They’ve got that Martin Luther pep and go!
And when you see them play...
you’re bound to say...
GO, TEAM, GO!!

1996:Bridget (Surdick) & Marty Thiel were blessed with a baby daughter on April 24th- Easter morning!! Madison Grace Thiel entered the world at 7:29am. She weighed 6 lbs, 14 oz. and was 19 1/2 inches long. She is welcomed by her 3 siblings: Mikaela (6), Rebekah (4) & Malachi (2). Bridget also sent a congratulatory e-mail to Principal Robert Patrick as follows:
“Hi MLHS!
I finished reading the latest Knight Light. So, I wanted to e-mail a note to say congratulations to Mr. Patrick on his 2011 Teacher of the Year Award!!! Yay! He definitely deserves it! He is on my list of "favorite teachers/music directors that I had throughout my many years of education." I am still so thankful that he asked me to play piano at MLHS and to be in the band. And I enjoyed playing the review game in World History class. He is talented, works well with teens, shows that his faith in Christ is important to him, has a sense of humor, pushes students to do and be their best, and more. Way to go, Mr. Patrick!
P.S. this is just said in good fun.... Mr. Patrick, have your "writing-on-the-chalkboard" skills improved? I do remember having to ask you, "What did you just write on the board?" :-) Thank you for serving MLHS. Praise be to God! Bridget (Surdick) Thiel”
